Delete your account

You can close your Yaygo account at any time, and you do not need our permission or a reason. This page explains how to do it, exactly what we erase, and the few records we are legally required to hold on to.

Effective October 13, 2026Last updated October 13, 2026

Delete in the app

The fastest way, and the one we recommend — it takes effect immediately, with no waiting on us.

  • Open the Yaygo app and make sure you are signed in.
  • Go to Settings.
  • Tap Delete account.
  • Read the summary of what happens, tick the confirmation, then tap Delete my account.

You are signed out straight away and the account cannot be signed into again — not with the same phone number, email, Apple, Google or Facebook identity.

Delete by email

If you have already removed the app, cannot sign in, or would simply rather we did it, email yaygoph@gmail.com with the subject Account deletion request.

Send it from the email address on the account, or tell us the phone number you sign in with. We will ask you to confirm ownership before erasing anything — without that check, anyone could close someone else’s account.

We will never ask for your password or a one-time code

Yaygo staff do not need either to process a deletion, and will never ask for them. Treat any message that does as an attempt to take over your account.

Delete some data only

Closing the account is not the only option. You can remove most of what you have given us and keep the account itself.

  • In the app: edit or clear your profile photo, date of birth and gender from Edit profile, and delete a review you wrote from the stay you reviewed.
  • Hosts can delete individual listing photos, rooms and rates, or unlist a property, from the host area.
  • Anything else — for example a message thread, or a phone number you no longer use — by email.

For the parts you cannot remove yourself, email yaygoph@gmail.com with the subject Data deletion request, saying what you want removed. We confirm ownership first, the same as for an account deletion.

Under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 you have the right to erasure or blocking of information that is incomplete, outdated, unlawfully obtained, or no longer necessary — see section 11 of our Privacy Policy. The records listed under What we keep are the exception: those are held for the periods the law requires, whether or not the account stays open.

What is deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes the personal information attached to it:

Your profile
Name, email address, phone number, date of birth and profile photo are erased from our records.
Sign-in identities
Your login is disabled permanently. If you used Sign in with Apple, we also tell Apple to un-authorise Yaygo, so it disappears from your Apple ID settings.
Devices and notifications
Every registered device token is removed, so push notifications stop immediately, along with your in-app notification history.
Saved stays
Your favourites and saved places are deleted.
Wallet balance
Any remaining Yaygo wallet balance is forfeited and cannot be recovered. Withdraw it before you delete.

Deletion is permanent

There is no undo and no way for us to restore a deleted account, even minutes later. If you only want to stop hearing from us, turn off notifications in Settings instead.

What we keep

A small set of records outlives the account, either because the law requires it or because erasing them would misrepresent someone else. None of them carry your name.

  • Booking, payment and payout records, kept in anonymised form. Philippine tax and accounting rules require these for at least ten years, and a host's earnings history has to stay accurate.
  • Reviews you wrote, detached from your name and shown as from a former user — deleting them outright would distort a host's rating.
  • Support tickets and reports, so we can see the history if a dispute resurfaces later.
  • Server logs, which age out on their own.

The exact periods are set out in section 9 of our Privacy Policy.

What can block deletion

Two situations stop a deletion going through, because completing one would leave someone else stranded. The app tells you which applies.

You have a booking in progress

If you have a stay that is pending, confirmed or currently checked in, finish or cancel it first. A host needs to know who is arriving.

You are a host with listings

If you host on Yaygo, delete your listings before deleting your account — otherwise guests could book a property whose owner no longer exists.

Once neither applies, deletion goes through immediately.

How long it takes

Deleting from inside the app is immediate. Your profile is erased and your login disabled before the screen closes.

Email requests are handled within 30 days of us confirming the account is yours, and usually far sooner. Backups are overwritten on their own cycle, so a copy may persist there briefly after the live record is gone; it is never used to restore your account.
